Today I am going down to my county fair. I am have been a leader for at least 29 years. That makes me feel old. 4-Hers I first had have kids in 4-H now. This is the first year I have not been there everyday. What I want to talk about is what happened last night. My mule jumped over me. We were putting them up after a ride. I let her halter fall off right outside the gate, 9 time out of 10 she goes right in. This time I don't know what happened. I put the rope around her went on the inside of the gate to lead her in. The next thing I heard a smack Tom hit her on the rear. She stepped on my foot as I was trying to get away. I could not move so I fell to the ground. The next thing I seen was she was jumping over me. I covered my face all I could think of was don't break my glasses. I knew she could jump and I knew she would not jump on me. I heard some old wise tail about horses and mules would not step on a man when they are running.

  2. I have had that experience of the horses jumping
or stepping over me until I had an appaloosa
gelding. We finally figured out that he was
at least partially blind. While I was breaking
him to ride he did step on me and jump on me when
I was bucked off. Be careful
